Dragen in de zomer.

Wear in summer.

Finally, spring and summer! The perfect season to go outside and enjoy the sun's rays. But what about carrying your little one during the warmer days? Don't worry, we have some useful tips for you!

First of all, the My Jalou sling is stretchy and you can only tie the PWCC "Pocket Wrap Cross Carry" in one way. This knot consists of three strips of fabric. We have ensured that the fabric is nice and light and breathable, so that your little one does not overheat. But it is still good to realize that you are wearing 3 strips of fabric over your baby. On sunny days you can therefore dress your baby a little less, for example just a romper or if it is really hot just a diaper.

Now, what should you pay attention to? We have some tips, but also important points of attention:

  • Wear a high-necked cotton shirt or place a hydrophilic cloth between you and your baby to absorb sweat and increase wearing comfort. On really hot days you can even dampen the cloth for some extra cooling.
  • Protect your little one from the sun by using a cotton hat with a peak and neck flap.
  • If your mini is only wearing a diaper, wear airy white socks, because the the bottom of the feet are super sensitive, and white because they heat up less quickly.
  • Don't forget to apply sunscreen to your baby's vulnerable areas such as the crown, back of the knees, edges of the ears, neck, instep and feet. Remember that sunscreen can stain your sling, so let it soak in thoroughly before wearing.
  • Make sure your little one gets enough fluid, especially during long walks. Take a break every now and then and give your child something to drink.
  • It may go without saying, but seek shade and stay out of the bright sun, especially during the hottest part of the day. Take a lovely evening walk, when the temperature drops and the summer evening arrives it is wonderful to take a walk together.
  • Don't carry your baby for too long at a time, especially in really hot weather. Take your child out of the sling regularly.

I hope these tips help you make the most of carrying your little one during the warm days! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are ready for you!
